In the marking up for my script I have been annotating all the scenes, putting in all the possible sounds that will be included and all of my different ideas on how they would work and the possible issues that I may come up against.
This is an example of how I annotated the script and what ideas I wanted to put in.
In this section it is the clear what kind of effect I want to put into the scene, the idea of Paul drowning when discovering the video gives it the idea that he is struggling to catch his breath and overwhelmed by the whole situation. This scene is a massive part in the whole film so it needs to be quite hard hitting and intense as I have mentioned. The use of electronic sounds will be used to create a tone and to also show and experimental side to the sound design.

Paul
sees that it has been uploaded by other users.
PAUL
(CONT’D)
Fuck!
A
tear role down Paul’s cheek.
(When
Paul discovers that the video has been uploaded I want to bring in a synth
sound, I want this to be a very intense sound. I also want Paul's dialogue to
sound like he is underwater; as if he was drowning)

EXT.
PAUL’S HOUSE - THE NEXT MORNING
The
sun shines on the house.
(I
want to outside world to also appear very silent, I want this to create the
idea that everybody is in their houses watching the video)
This is the scene that follows the previous scene, the use of silence in this scene will add a massive contrast to the previous scene as their will be a lot of sound design going on. With this scene have very small sound design it will act as a crescendo from the last scene.
The idea that everyone is in their houses watching the video matches up well with the tone of the previous scene, this shows that Paul is in his right to be so shocked at the fact that the video has been uploaded. I want the audience to feel that Pauls world is crumbling before his eyes.
This scene will be a massive contrast to a previous scene where kids are heard playing the street.
